If this is you, we have an exciting opportunity for an Equipment Entitlement Account Storekeeper role to join the Quartermasters Department (QM's)! We are offering this position at 37 hours per week, requests to work flexibly will be considered, considering the business needs.

This role sits within the QM's Dept at the Army Training Centre Pirbright, a large and busy Phase 1 Training Establishment. The Equipment Entitlement Account Storekeeper role is placed within an organisation and team which plays a pivotal role in making the Army an excellent place to work.

The successful candidate will be versatile with a flexible approach to accommodate the constantly evolving needs of service delivery and providing general accounting skills to the team and wider establishment. This will consist of conducting daily maintenance of the stores accounts, specifically, but not limited to the expense account, in accordance with current policy and procedures. Utilising in service stores accounting software, Defence Logistics Framework and other associated publications.

Job description

  • Responsible for the conduct and daily management of the store and associated accounting procedures for the following accounts:
  • Equipment Entitlement Account
  • Expense Account
  • Unit Account Administrator duties
  • Responsible for processing demands, receipt of stores, accounting procedures and documentation associated with the above accounts.
  • Responsible for the dispatching/issuing and receipt of freight.
  • Prepare the accounts for all internal and external audits / inspections.
  • Assist the team, when required, in other stores areas.
  • Assist when required in all aspects of accounting, issuing, and receiving of stock using in service electronic stores accounting tools.
  • Carry out all tasks as directed by the QM (T) through the appropriate Line Manager, applicable to grade.
  • Maintain current Health and Safety Regulation in the workplace and environment for both work colleagues and visitors alike.
  • Ensure correct stowage and appropriate level of security of all held stock.
  • Ensure best equipment husbandry standards within the stores area of the Quartermaster department.

This is a physically demanding role and although training and equipment will be provided there will be an element of heavy lifting required, as part of day-to-day duties.

Person specification

  • The successful candidate must have previous experience with MJDI
  • It would be beneficial to have previous stores experience and experience with Material Logistics.
  • The candidate must be able to work without supervision and have a flexible working attitude
