Job summary

Air Command is the Headquarters for the Royal Air Force, and the Career Management directorate is responsible for apportioning workforce to fill job roles, ensure appropriate conditions of service and balance business need with personal aspirations where possible. CM Charter Career Management sits within the Director People AOR. 

The role of the Administrative Support is to assist the Career Managers in the delivery of Career Management. The workforce is made up of a range of military ranks, and Civil Servants. 

Where business needs allow, some home-based working will be supported. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required reasonable adjustments.

The position is advertised at 37 hours a week. However, part time would be considered in line with business needs.

Job description

The role of Administrative Support is responsible for:

  • Operate JPA effectively
  • Liaise with A1 Ops where required in relation to DWRs and Out of Area assignments, notably checking with A1 Ops information is maintained and actioned correctly
  • Manipulate data for Career Managers for relevant competency trawls
  • Manage Report tracker
  • Conduct basic checks of all information when received
  • Assist relevant Career Managers ahead of promotion boards where required 
  • Work with STANEVAL and highlight any issues where necessary
  • Answer queries where appropriate
  • Order stationary and support the team as a Super User

Experience of Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft applications
