This is an exciting opportunity for a Modern Apprentice to join Rent Service Scotland, as part of the Rent Adjudication Team.

 

The Rent Adjudication Team is an operational delivery team, they administer applications from tenants who have received a rent increase notice from their landlord which they believe is an excessive increase. They carry out rental valuations, desk based and property inspections, for rent adjudication applications received under the Rent Adjudication (Temporary Modifications) (Scotland) Regulations 2024.

 

This role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills with a variety of learning and development opportunities whilst completing your Modern Apprenticeship.

Job description

  • Receipt, review and input rent adjudication applications for tenants served with a rent increase notice by their landlord under the newly modified Rent Adjudication Regulations 2024
  • Input applications for Local Authority Housing Benefit subsidy purposes.
  • Provide administrative support including scanning applications and supporting documents, photocopying, answering routine enquiries and other relevant duties as required.
  • Undertake other duties consistent with the post as directed by supervisors.
  • Support the identifying and collecting of suitable rental market evidence from letting and estate agents and landlords and recording it in various formats.

Essential Criteria

  1. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads with competing priorities to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  2. Strong written and oral communication skills and confidence in engaging with a range of people at all levels.
  3. Good working knowledge of corporate systems as well as IT packages, such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
